Water cooling towers in air separation equipment have various types according to different classification standards.
Natural ventilation cooling tower: using natural wind pressure to form air flow, heat exchange. Mechanical ventilation cooling tower: forced air flow through the fan, heat exchange. Mixed ventilation cooling tower: combining the characteristics of natural ventilation and mechanical ventilation, flexible adjustment according to specific conditions. Counter-flow cooling tower: water flows from top to bottom, air flows from bottom to top, and the two flow in the opposite direction. The advantages are that the water distribution system is not easy to block, the water drenching filler is kept clean and not easy to age, the moisture reflux is small, and the anti-freezing and icing measures are easier. Cross-flow (AC) cooling tower: water from the top down, air from the tower outside the horizontal flow to the tower, the two flow direction is vertically orthogonal. Its advantages are energy saving, low water pressure, small wind resistance, filler and water distribution system maintenance is convenient. Mixed-flow cooling tower: combining the characteristics of counter-flow and cross-flow, designed according to specific needs. Open type cooling tower: cooling water is directly exposed to the air, and heat exchange is carried out through spraying and air contact. Closed cooling tower: cooling water circulates in a closed system, not in direct contact with the outside air, heat exchange with the air through the heat exchanger.
In the air separation equipment, the specific use of which type of water cooling tower, need to be based on the actual production requirements, environmental conditions, investment costs and maintenance management and other factors for comprehensive consideration.
