From the late 1920s to the early 1980s, it was the initial development stage of rural biogas construction; During the mature stage of rural biogas technology from 1980s to 2000, great breakthroughs have been made in biogas technology in China. A series of standardized biogas digesters adapted to different climates and raw materials have been developed, and a series of national standards for biogas digester construction have been formulated; The period from 2001 to 2006 is the rapid development stage of rural biogas. The investment in rural biogas construction is gradually increased, and the development scale is rapidly expanded; From 2007 to 2014, the construction of rural biogas has entered the stage of both construction and management; In order to innovate the construction and management mode of traditional biogas projects and promote sustainable development, since 2015, the national development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas (formerly the Ministry of Agriculture) have invested 2 billion yuan annually to jointly carry out the pilot demonstration of rural biogas transformation and upgrading in China for three consecutive years, and have successively supported 64 large-scale biogas pilot projects and more than 1400 large-scale biogas projects, Many central enterprises, state-owned enterprises and industry leading enterprises have joined the ranks of investment, construction and operation and maintenance of biogas projects.
