Small air separation unit is the unit that separates air into oxygen and other gases by first compressing and cooling the air into a liquid state and then using the characteristic that oxygen has a different boiling point to other gases in the air to obtain oxygen and liquid oxygen by evaporation and separation, as well as other rare gases as required.Liquid oxygen is produced using the cryogenic separation of air. The basic principle is to use low temperature distillation to condense the air into a liquid and separate the air according to the evaporation temperature of the components. The two-stage distillation tower obtains both pure nitrogen and pure oxygen at the top and bottom of the upper tower; it is also possible to take out liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen on the evaporation and condensation sides of the main cold respectively. The air separation in the distillation tower is divided into two stages: the air is separated for the first time in the lower tower to obtain liquid nitrogen and oxygen-rich liquid air; the oxygen-rich liquid air is sent to the upper tower for distillation to obtain pure oxygen and pure nitrogen. The upper tower is further divided into two sections: the upper section is the distillation section, bounded by the liquid-air inlet, to distill the rising gas, recover the oxygen component and purify the nitrogen purity. The lower section is the distillation section, which separates the nitrogen component from the liquid and improves the oxygen purity of the liquid.Liquid oxygen has a wide range of applications in the defence, metallurgical and chemical industries as well as in medical applications.

If the temperature after the expander of the air separation unit is too low, it should find out the cause of the low temperature and take measures to increase the temperature after the expander. If the low temperature of expander is caused by liquid air in front of expander, appropriate measures should be taken to reduce the liquid air level of lower column.
