With the increasingly wide application of cryogenic liquid, in order to reduce material cost, improve storage efficiency, reduce equipment floor area, reduce energy consumption in the process of manufacturing, transportation and installation, and realize the green manufacturing concept of simultaneous development of safety production and energy saving, large-scale design has become the leading development direction of atmospheric pressure storage tank.
At present, the commonly used cryogenic liquid storage tanks in China are mainly divided into single tank and full capacity tank.
1.Single tank is a kind of double wall tank which has the capacity of storing cryogenic liquid, and the outer container is only filled with thermal insulation materials. The single tank has the advantages of simple structure, short construction period and low storage cost. Because the outer container is not resistant to low temperature, when the inner container leaks, the outer container can not resist the damage of lowtemperature liquid, which will cause a large number of lowtemperature liquid medium vaporization and diffusion in a large range, forming a potential risk factor. Moreover, cofferdams need to be set around the storage tank to protect the equipment, which covers a relatively large area.
2.The inner and outer containers of the full capacity tank have the ability to store cryogenic liquid. The inner container is used to store the cryogenic liquid under normal production conditions, and the outer container is used to store the cryogenic liquid leaked from the inner container and the gas produced by the evaporation of the leaked liquid, and can safely discharge the evaporated gas. The outer container can prevent the leakage of lowtemperature liquid medium when the inner container is damaged, and there is no need to set up a cofferdam, which has the advantages of small floor area, long service life and low operation cost, but its construction cycle is long and the investment cost is high.
The selection of storage tank type should follow the principles of safety and reliability, reasonable investment, advanced technology and long service life, and the factors such as construction period and easy operation of the whole system should be considered.
