Because acetylene is an unsaturated hydrocarbon with high chemical activity and extremely unstable properties. Solid acetylene may also explode in the absence of oxygen, decompose into carbon and hydrogen, and release heat. The explosion heat generated is
8374kJ/kg, resulting in a gas volume of 0.86m3/kg and a temperature of 2600 ℃. If oxygen is present during the decomposition of acetylene, the generated carbon and hydrogen combine with oxidation to undergo an oxidation reaction and further release heat, thereby increasing the power of the explosion.
