Pressure testing and leak detection are both air tightness checks of air separation equipment. Its purpose is to examine the quality of installation, piping, and welding.
There are two types of pressure testing for air separation equipment: one is strength pressure testing, which tests the safety of the equipment. Generally, individual equipment is tested at the manufacturing plant or before installation upon arrival at the site. The second is the airtightness test, with the purpose of detecting leaks. Generally, the whole system pressure test of air separation equipment during installation refers to the latter. The pressure level and test method of the airtightness test vary depending on the object being tested, and should be carried out in accordance with the technical documents of the manufacturer. After the installation of general air separation equipment, a full system pressure test is required and the residual rate is calculated. The requirement for residual rate to be above 95% is qualified.
