When the air volume decreases, the rising steam volume and reflux liquid volume in the tower decrease, but the reflux ratio remains unchanged. Under normal conditions, it has little effect on the purity of oxygen and nitrogen products. According to the material balance, when the amount of processing air decreases, the output of oxygen and nitrogen will decrease accordingly.

When the gas volume decreases, the steam flow rate decreases, the liquid volume on the tray also decreases, and the liquid layer thins, so the tray resistance decreases. At the same time, as the main cooling and heating load is reduced, the heat transfer area is rich, and the heat transfer temperature difference can also be reduced. These effects will help to reduce the pressure of the upper and lower towers.

When the gas volume is reduced too much, the liquid on the sieve hole may not be held due to the low gas velocity, and the liquid will leak directly from the sieve hole, resulting in liquid leakage. The leaked liquid does not fully contact with the steam, part of the evaporation is not sufficient, and the nitrogen concentration is high. This will greatly reduce the distillation effect, affect the purity of product oxygen and nitrogen, and even fail to maintain normal production in serious cases. Therefore, the minimum allowable load value is specified for the distillation column, which is related to the structural type of the tray and the selection of parameters during design.

DEAR Air Separation is committed to building a complete set of high-quality air separation equipment with advanced technology, reliable quality and high cost performance.

The liquid air separation plant uses circulating nitrogen to absorb the cold end of LNG, thus replacing the traditional hot and cold end expanders of the liquid air separation plant. The liquid air separation plant energy consumption is reduced by using glycol aqueous solution closed circuit to absorb the cold at the high temperature end of LNG, thus replacing the traditional cool water tower with lower cooling water temperature and less water consumption. The key of the liquid air separation pl...

Expander is a kind of mechanical equipment that uses compressed gas to expand and depressurize, so that the gas temperature can be reduced to obtain the cooling capacity. In the air separation unit, the expander is an important equipment to provide cooling capacity for the air separation unit, and its cooling capacity accounts for 80% - 90% of the cooling capacity of the air separation unit. The main structural forms of expander are piston type and turbine type. The piston expander is suitable for air separation process with large pressure drop and small flow rate because of its convenient manufacture and low speed. Turbine type has the characteristics of large gas flow, high efficiency, stable and reliable operation and no friction parts. Due to the low pressure air separation process used in large air separation units, the pressure drop and unit cooling capacity are very small, and because the expansion air is sent to the upper column for rectification, the expander is requi
