According to the requirements of oxygen consumption, the configuration of the external compression process of the air separation unit supporting the metallurgical and chemical industries is as follows:

1. Air compressor and filtering system: domestic or imported machines equipped with domestic self-cleaning filters;

2. Nitrogen water precooling system: make full use of the cooling capacity of dry nitrogen, reduce the temperature of chilled water, and cancel the chiller (or with standby chiller);

3. Purification system: electric heating or steam heating, automatic switching; Double layer bed structure of molecular sieve+alumina is adopted to prolong the service life of molecular sieve;

4. Refrigeration system: 2 domestic expanders, 1 for use and 1 for standby;

5. Heat exchange system: domestic low-pressure plate;

6. Main distillation system: sieve plate lower tower or packing lower tower, regular packing upper tower, plate fin multilayer or falling film main cooling;

7. Argon production system: regular packing argon tower, full rectification three tower argon production;

8. Oxygen pressure system: domestic oxygen permeation or oxygen piston;

9. Nitrogen pressure system: nitrogen permeation or nitrogen piston;

10. Instrument control system: domestic or imported DCS.

Advantages of external compression process: low supporting requirements, low price of supporting units or valves, and low investment.

DEAR Air Separation has a professional technical team to provide customers with high-quality design services in air separation equipment construction projects.

In the process of operation, especially in the start-up and shutdown of the air separation unit, one-way force should be avoided on the instrument. During the start-up of the equipment, close the high pressure and low pressure valves firstly, then open the balance valve, and then slowly open the high pressure (or low pressure) valve, so that the measured medium can enter the positive (negative) pressure chamber of the transmitter. If the liquid is to be measured, the gas in the positive (negative) pressure chamber should be discharged from the upper vent. If the gas is measured, drain the liquid accumulated in the positive (negative) pressure chamber from the lower drain screw hole. After discharging the gas (liquid), close the balance valve, and then open the valve on the other side. When the equipment is shut down, the high pressure (or low pressure) valve should be closed first, then the balance valve should be opened, and then the valve should be closed on the other side.
