Grease is a combustible substance, which will cause spontaneous combustion when contacting with compressed oxygen with pressure greater than 3MPa. If grease is stuck on the oxygen cylinder valve, the cylinder valve will catch fire or even explode when oxygen flows through the cylinder valve at a high speed during the filling and use of the oxygen cylinder. Therefore, the oxygen cylinder is strictly forbidden to be stained with grease.
The grease on the bottle valve is caused by ignoring the safety and seriously violating the safety operation rules. Oil stained hands, gloves, work clothes and tools of the operator during filling and use; It is also possible that strict degreasing treatment is not carried out during inspection and replacement of bottle valves.
The grease in the bottle may be the gas containing grease once contained in the cylinder. During the periodic inspection of gas cylinders, in order to determine whether there is grease on the inner wall of the gas cylinders, the following methods can be used: pour the water used to rinse the gas cylinders into a cup, leave it for a while, put a piece of cigarette paper on the water surface, and take it out for drying after a while. If there is oil stain on the paper, it indicates that the bottle contains grease; Pour the water for rinsing the gas bottle into the cup, and use a small spoon to take a little pure camphor powder and sprinkle it on the surface of the cup. If the camphor powder rotates strongly on the water surface, it indicates that the bottle contains oil. This is because camphor powder is insoluble in water, but soluble in oil. In the process of dissolution, the heat of dissolution will be generated to vaporize the water locally, causing the rotation of camphor powder.
