Steel pipes shall be flushed and purged as required after passing the strength test and before the pneumatic tightness test.
For many years, water flushing, air purging, steam purging and other technologies have been mainly used for flushing and purging. This is more effective for small-diameter pipelines. For pipelines with larger diameters, the ideal purging effect is often not achieved because the flow rate of purging medium cannot meet the specified requirements. As the pipeline accessories and instruments become more and more advanced, and the requirements of production technology continue to improve, some construction technologies can no longer meet the construction requirements. In the purging and flushing construction of large-diameter steel pipelines, the blasting purging method is replacing other construction methods used in the past.
Blasting purging is to close one end of the purged pipe with a bursting disc whose strength is much lower than that of the pipe, and inject compressed air into the other end. The air pressure in the system gradually increases. When the pressure exceeds the limit pressure that the bursting disc can bear, the bursting disc will suddenly rupture, and the compressed air in the system will instantly expand rapidly and eject from the bursting opening at a very high speed. At the same time, the welding slag and other sundries in the pipeline will also be discharged under the vibration caused by blasting and the impact of high-speed air flow. Repeated several times, the purging requirements can be achieved.
The production of air separation equipment and oxygen pipelines of Deere air separation plant strictly comply with the requirements of process technical specifications, and the production and installation of pipelines ensure the high quality requirements of the overall air separation plant.
