The components of piston air compressor which need water cooling include air cylinder, intermediate cooler, Post cooler and lubricating oil cooler, etc.
For cylinder and intermediate cooler, one of the purposes of cooling is to lower the exhaust temperature, making the exhaust temperature not exceed the allowable range. It can be seen that after the piston air compressor is out of water, the air cylinder and the intermediate cooler cannot be cooled, while the exhaust temperature of the air compressor rises sharply. This will not only cause the lubricating oil in the cylinder to lose its lubricating property and make the moving parts wear sharply, but also make the lubricating oil decompose and the volatile components in the oil mix with the air, causing accidents such as combustion and explosion.
For the post cooler, the water breaking of the air compressor will also make the post cooler lose its cooling function. In this way, the air temperature sent into the air separation plant will increase greatly, and the normal working condition of the air separation plant will be destroyed.
For the lubricating oil cooler, the water failure of the air compressor will make the lubricating oil not cool well and the temperature of the lubricating oil will increase. In this way, if it is light, the viscosity of lubricating oil will be reduced, the lubrication performance will be worse, and the abrasion of moving parts will be intensified, which will reduce the service life of the machine and increase the power consumption; if it is heavy, the lubricating oil will be decomposed, and volatile components in the oil will be mixed into the air, causing a series of accidents.
In a word, during the operation of piston air compressor, cooling is an essential link, and the condition of cooling water should be paid attention to all the time. Once the water is broken, the machine must be stopped and checked immediately.
