In the operation and maintenance of air separation equipment, the maintenance of cold box is very important, which is related to the stable and efficient operation of equipment.
Daily inspection is the basis. The operation and maintenance personnel shall regularly check the appearance of the cold box and check whether there are deformation, cracks and other abnormalities to prevent leakage due to structural damage. Meanwhile, pay attention to whether the foundation of the cold box sinks, so as to avoid the overall operation of the equipment due to unstable foundation. Pay attention to the instruments on the cold box to ensure that the pressure, temperature and other parameters are displayed normally. In case of any deviation, find out the cause in time.
Sealing inspection shall not be ignored. The sealing performance of the cold box directly affects its insulation effect. Regularly check whether the sealing strip is aged or damaged. Timely replace the sealing materials for the parts with problems to prevent external air infiltration, resulting in loss of cooling capacity and increase energy consumption.
Pearlite filling inside the cold box also needs attention. Pearlescent sand plays a good role in thermal insulation. In case of settlement and caking, the thermal insulation performance will be reduced. The filling density and uniformity of perlite shall be inspected regularly, and supplement or replace it if necessary.
In addition, when the equipment is shut down for maintenance, the inside of the cold box shall be thoroughly cleaned to remove impurities and dirt, check the internal pipes and equipment for corrosion and wear, repair or replace the damaged parts in time to prepare for the next startup operation and ensure the long-term stable operation of the air separation equipment.
