The purpose of purification system of air separation equipment is to remove water, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons and other impurities in the air through molecular sieve, so as to guarantee the safe operation of air separation device. The water content in the air purified by molecular sieve adsorber is ≤5PPm, carbon dioxide ≤1PPm.
The main component of molecular sieve is alkaline silica-aluminate, which has certain crystalline and connecting structure and can make some specific molecules pass through the substance. Liquefaction equipment usually has a pre-purification device for purifying process air, and two molecular sieve adsorbers (one adsorption, one regeneration) are used alternately to ensure the continuity of its work. The purpose is to remove moisture and carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons from the air (the average content of carbon dioxide in the air is about 500 ppm).

In the process of operation, especially in the start-up and shutdown of the air separation unit, one-way force should be avoided on the instrument. During the start-up of the equipment, close the high pressure and low pressure valves firstly, then open the balance valve, and then slowly open the high pressure (or low pressure) valve, so that the measured medium can enter the positive (negative) pressure chamber of the transmitter.
