A set of air separation equipment, internal compression process and external compression process which spend more money. Roughly speaking, there is a difference in investment cost mainly in the following parts.
It is the liquid oxygen pump plus air booster in the internal compression process compared with the oxygen press in the external compression process. Overseas, it is thought that it is much more cost-effective to invest in the internal compression process, but that is the market situation abroad. That is because oxygen presses in foreign countries are very expensive. For example, the same specifications of the oxygen turbine compressor (turbine oxygen compressor), the price of imports is about three times the price of domestic; and the internal compression process of the price of the air booster is 1.5 times the price of the corresponding domestic turbine oxygen compressor; the cost of liquid oxygen pumps is almost negligible in comparison. Such a big cost difference, of course, in foreign countries is to choose the internal compression process of air separation equipment. And in the country, the situation is just the opposite. First of all, the external compression process of the turbine oxygen press can be used with the production of products, good performance, low prices, and good safety performance. If the use of internal compression process, the required air booster is generally required to imported units, domestic units in the performance and other aspects can not fully meet the requirements. In this way, the use of internal compression process of air separation equipment cost is high.
In fact, the internal compression process than the external shrinkage process higher investment costs are mainly in this part.

When the air separation unit is in normal operation, the liquid flows down and can only flow on the tray and flow to the lower tray through the overflow bucket because the supporting force of the rising steam prevents the liquid from flowing down from the small hole of the tray. After shutdown, due to the interruption of rising gas flow, the liquid on the tray can flow from the overflow bucket to the lower tray, and also can flow through the small hole on the tray to the lower tray. This will cause the surface of liquid oxygen and liquid air rise, which may exceed the position of the expansion air outlet pipe, resulting in liquid carrying accident of the expander during restart. Therefore, pay attention to the liquid level position when stopping.
