The cooling system of piston compressor includes cylinder cooling, interstage cooling and post cooling of final exhaust. There are two types of cooling: water cooling and air cooling. Water cooling is generally adopted for air separation plant. The cooling water first enters the intercooler, then the first stage cylinder water jacket, then the second stage cylinder water jacket, and finally the aftercooler. This water cooling system is called series type, which has the advantage of simple structure, but is not suitable for multi-stage compression. The more stages, the worse the cooling effect.

Fluid resistance refers to the pressure drop of fluid flowing through pipes, valves or equipment. The actual process pressure gradually decreased.
