When the amount and state of each material entering and exiting the distillation tower fully match the material balance, component balance, and energy balance of the entire distillation tower, the distillation condition can maintain stable operation.
Usually, the oxygen and nitrogen products introduced from the distillation tower are in a dry saturated vapor state, so the air processed in the distillation tower should also be in a dry saturated vapor state under its pressure. However, due to the presence of cold loss in the distillation tower and the fact that the expanded air is an overheated gas, in order to compensate for the cooling capacity, the state of the processed air entering the lower tower must not only reach saturation, but also contain a small amount of liquid, that is, the state of the processed air entering the lower tower should be a gas-liquid mixture. In the full low-pressure molecular sieve purification process, a small amount of liquid air in the processing air entering the lower tower is cooled by the cold end of the main heat exchanger and partially liquefied by the positive flow air.
