How to deal with liquid suspension in the air separation tower of a large air separation equipment

The method of stopping the expander and cutting off the gas source to eliminate liquid suspension can cause the oxygen compressor and nitrogen compressor to shut down, causing losses to normal production. Therefore, the method of appropriately discharging liquid nitrogen can be used to eliminate liquid suspension, which is relatively simple and feasible and does not affect normal production. If the expansion amount is increased while discharging liquid nitrogen, the effect will be better. The specific operation method is as follows:

When the oxygen flow rate is slightly lower than normal and the opening of other valves remains unchanged, as long as the liquid nitrogen discharge valve is appropriately opened and the expansion amount is increased (the maximum expansion amount of an expander), the temperature display after the sewage nitrogen passes through the cooler can be seen, and it reaches the normal value, which is about -173 ℃, in 2-3 minutes. Then the resistance pressure difference begins to decrease and the main cooling liquid level begins to rise. At the same time, the change in oxygen purity can be seen from the oxygen analyzer, which begins to slightly decrease and gradually increases after 10 minutes. After the resistance reaches the normal value, gradually close the liquid nitrogen discharge valve until it is completely closed.

If this method is used to treat the suspension, it may not be possible to do it once and a second treatment is required. This mainly depends on the degree of deterioration of the working conditions to determine the amount of liquid nitrogen emissions. During operation, attention should be paid to stabilizing the air flow into the tower; When adjusting a certain parameter, the opening and closing of the valve should be slow.
