After all the pipelines, valves, and on-site installed air separation equipment in the tower are installed, fully heated, and blown out, they are driven and frozen without filling the cold insulation material in the cold insulation box, which is called "bare cooling".
Bare cooling is a low-temperature assessment of air separation equipment. Its purpose is to:
1) Inspect the installation or overhaul quality of the air separation equipment. For example, check if there are any leakage points at the pipeline welds and flange connections;
2) Inspect the cold deformation and compensation ability of air separation equipment, pipelines, and valves under low temperature conditions;
3) Check whether the equipment and pipelines are unobstructed and correct;
4) Further tighten the mating flange screws at low temperatures to ensure no leakage at low temperatures.
Therefore, bare cooling is an indispensable process for equipment installed on site, which should be given sufficient attention after installation and before formal testing.
