Given the high sensitivity of oxygen piping to combustibles, piping cleanliness of small air separation unit is an important part of quality control for oxygen piping installations and is subject to the most rigorous degreasing, cleaning and drying treatments. The interior of the pipework should be free from the accumulation of moisture, cleaning agents, particles, organic oils, grease and adhesives, paint and record pen marks and other debris etc.

If there is metal debris or grit in the pipe, driven by the high speed oxygen flow, it will impact the pipe wall and produce sparks and cause combustion. Rusting of the inner wall of the pipeline increases friction and collects heat. When the shut-off valve on the oxygen delivery pipeline is opened, the pressure difference between the front and rear of the valve is great, and the oxygen flow rate can reach 200m/s instantly, which will cause an explosion due to the general carbon steel burning and fire. Oxygen flow in the pipe at the sharp bend impact pipe wall, resulting in high temperature. Pipeline interface, due to poor processing technology, there is a sudden tip or rough place, oxygen flow through the friction is too strong, can produce high heat. Oxygen pipeline docking flanges and other places leaking oxygen, external sources of ignition ignition explosion. Oxygen pipeline and oxygen gun in the manufacture and installation, if the use of lubricating oil grease is not clean, the peeling rubber tube debris and other foreign combustible materials into the tube, exposed wire head in the pipe to generate electrostatic induction, electrostatic sparks will cause rapid combustion and lead to an explosion.
