Welding process of stainless steel pipe in air separation project

Pipe preparation:

 

1) The pipe shall be cleaned after cutting, and the end face shall be smooth without rough selvedge

 

2) Purge the cut pipe to remove iron filings and dust.

 

3) Use a chamferer to remove the burr outside the pipe. After chamfering, use a dust-free cloth to wet the pipe incision with IPA.

 

4) The cleaned pipe is sealed with a pipe cap at the opening, and then transported to the site.

 

Pipe welding:

 

1) Before welding, the special clamp block is used to fix and align the pipe, and the welding handle is installed after the pipe is aligned.

 

2) Use a level to correct the line.

 

3) Connect the pressure gauge at the end of the pipe to ensure that the internal back pressure meets the welding pressure.

 

4) After welding, continue blowing until the pipe is cooled.

 

5) After confirming that the welding result is qualified, mark the code and date near the welding position.

 

6) Keep welding records and test pieces.

 

The unqualified welding shall be treated as follows:

 

1) Remove all unqualified welding parts.

 

2) The quality control personnel shall be informed before removing the pipeline.

 

3) Open the valve on the air supply system to blow clean.

 

4) Install the end blowing pipe to ensure that the pipe is not polluted by particles during pipe cutting.

 

5) Qualified wheel pipe cutter shall be used for pipe cutting tools.

 

6) When the unqualified welding part is located in the vertical pipeline position, the nearest horizontal position shall be removed and replaced.

 

7) Re weld and adjust the purge gas back to the original state.
