1. Definition
Standard calibration gas is a kind of gas with high uniformity, good stability and accurate value. Standard calibration gas can be single pure gas or high purity gas, or it can be mixed gas made of multicomponent gas. It is mainly used for standard instruments, meters, evaluation measurement methods, measurement standard transmission and value arbitration, etc. Standard calibration gas is one of the standard substances, so it is also called gas standard substance. Standard substance is a measurement standard, and it is also the measurement standard managed by law in the Metrology Law of the People's Republic of China. They have the basic functions of reproduction, preservation and transmission of quantity values. In the fields of physics, chemistry, biology and engineering measurement, it is used for standard measuring instruments and measuring process, evaluating the accuracy of measuring methods and the ability of testing laboratory, determining the characteristic value of materials or products, and carrying out measurement value arbitration, etc.
2. Classification
Standard calibration gas can be divided into standard gas, first class gas standard substance and second class gas standard substance according to the accuracy level of the fixed value of characteristic value. The following table lists some standard calibration gases of different levels in China.
