The air cooling tower in the air separation equipment is the core device of the air pre cooling system, used for cooling and preliminary dehumidification of compressed air, providing low-temperature, dry raw air for subsequent purification and distillation processes.
Working principle: During the heat exchange process, compressed air enters from the bottom of the tower and comes into counter current contact with cooling water sprayed down from the top of the tower. The heat in the air is transferred to the cooling water through sensible heat and latent heat of evaporation, resulting in a decrease in its own temperature. During the dehumidification process, the decrease in air temperature leads to an increase in relative humidity, and some water vapor condenses into liquid water, which is discharged outside the tower with the cooling water. Gas liquid separation, the water collector captures water droplets in the air to ensure that the outlet air is dry.
The air cooling tower is an indispensable pretreatment device in air separation equipment, providing high-quality raw air for subsequent purification processes through cooling and dehumidification. Its performance directly affects the efficiency, energy consumption, and stability of air separation equipment. Therefore, the rational design, operation, and maintenance of air cooling towers are crucial for ensuring the overall performance of air separation systems.
