In order to reduce the starting time and starting current, no-load starting is generally required before air compressor starting. Because from the starting characteristics of the motor driving the air compressor, it can be seen that the current when the motor starts is several times larger than that during normal operation, and the strong starting current has a great impact on the motor itself, the transformer and the transmission line. Due to the requirement of starting the motor, the pressure of pressure gauges at all levels should be checked before starting the air compressor. If there is gas storage, it should be deflated and depressurized.

In the process of operation, especially in the start-up and shutdown of the air separation unit, one-way force should be avoided on the instrument.
