Cleaning and degreasing of pressure vessels, valves and piping of large air separation plant

1 All pressure vessels, valves and pipelines and their piping accessories must be clean, dry and free from oil and grease before installation.

2 Degreasing of aluminium parts (pressure vessels, valves and piping) of large air separation plant is strictly prohibited by the use of carbon tetrachloride.

3 Carbon steel oxygen piping outside the cold box, valves and all other parts with oxygen, must be strictly degreased before installation and use.

4 Oxygen piping before installation and use, the residue in the piping should be blown clean with oil-free dry air or nitrogen until there is no rust, dust and other dirt. The blowing speed should be greater than 20m/s.

5 Where the surface of the parts in contact with oxygen and the residual oil in operation, the residual oil of the grease shall not exceed 125mg/m20

6 It is strictly forbidden to use oxygen to blow the pipeline.
