The environmental conditions considered by the air separation plant include: altitude, atmospheric pressure, ambient temperature, air humidity, the content of impurities such as carbon monoxide in the air, etc. These conditions vary with different regions and environments. Different environmental conditions have different effects on the performance of the same air separation plant.
1.Influence of atmospheric pressure on air separation plant:
Atmospheric pressure is the pressure exerted on objects in the atmosphere by the gravity of the atmosphere itself. In general, the atmospheric pressure is about 0.1MPa. When the atmospheric pressure decreases, the compression ratio of the air compressor will increase, which will increase the energy consumption of the air separation plant.
2.Influence of ambient temperature and humidity on air separation plant:
The increase of ambient temperature will reduce the air compressor's exhaust volume, increase the exhaust temperature, increase the shaft power, and increase the cold loss, which requires more cooling capacity to balance the cold loss, resulting in the increase of equipment energy consumption. When the air humidity increases, a part of the work of the air compressor will be consumed in the aspect of compressed water vapor, and the shaft power of the air compressor will also increase.
3.Influence of dust, solid impurities and harmful gases in the air on air separation plant:
With the gradual enlargement of the air separation plant, the total amount of air impurities brought into the air separation plant per hour is considerable. These impurities enter the air compressor with the air and then enter the air separation plant, which will cause great damage to the machine and block the equipment channel. Acetylene and other hydrocarbons in the air separation plant to a certain amount, under certain conditions will cause explosion accidents, causing great harm. Therefore, the impurities and harmful substances in the atmosphere must be removed timely and effectively to ensure the safe operation of the air separation plant.
