The air separation distillation tower is the core equipment for air separation. It adopts a vertical double-tower structure, consisting of two main bodies: the upper tower and the lower tower. It is equipped with core components such as the main cold heat exchanger, internal mass transfer components, and gas-liquid distribution devices. With a compact structure and distinct levels, it provides stable operating conditions for air distillation separation.
The core mass transfer structure inside the tower body is divided into two forms: structured packing or sieve tray, which is the key area for gas-liquid exchange. The packed tower is filled with high-efficiency corrugated structured packing, featuring low pressure drop and high mass transfer efficiency. The sieve tray tower consists of multiple layers of evenly arranged trays, downcomers, and overflow weirs. Liquid flows from top to bottom along the trays, while gas penetrates from bottom to top, fully completing heat and mass transfer to achieve oxygen and nitrogen component separation.
The lower column is equipped with a gas-liquid feed distributor and a reflux liquid distribution device, which can evenly distribute the feed and reflux liquid nitrogen, achieving preliminary air separation and producing oxygen-enriched liquid air and high-purity liquid nitrogen. The upper column has more internal levels and higher separation accuracy, equipped with a contaminated nitrogen extraction port and a product extraction interface, to complete the deep purification of oxygen and nitrogen.
The top and bottom of the tower body are equipped with gas-liquid buffering and collection structures, which, in conjunction with the external main cold heat exchanger, form a closed-loop circulation. The overall internal structure follows the principle of gradual separation, with various components working together to effectively reduce distillation resistance, enhance separation efficiency, and ensure the continuous, stable, and efficient production of qualified oxygen and nitrogen products by the air separation equipment.
