During the regeneration of the molecular sieve purifier of the air separation equipment, at the beginning of the cold blowing stage, the outlet temperature of nitrogen will continue to rise, forming a peak. However, some adsorbers have two or three peaks in their cold blowing curve, or the entire peak is relatively flat and the peak is not obvious. What is the reason for this?
The reason why the nitrogen outlet temperature will continue to rise during the cold blowing stage is that the heat accumulated in the bed layer heats up the gas and the lower molecular sieve. If the bed is flat and the temperature of the molecular sieve on the same cross-section is uniform, the process of temperature change towards the outlet direction is roughly the same as the airflow passes, so a maximum temperature is reached at the outlet at the same time, forming a peak. If the bed is uneven and the thickness of the bed through which the airflow passes varies in different parts, the highest temperature may not reach at the same time at the outlet, and there may be several peaks after mixing, or the entire peak may be relatively flat and the peak temperature will decrease. The shape of the cold blowing curve will also become "short and plump". In this situation, heating and cold blowing to the specified temperature often take longer. The cause should be identified and resolved.
