During the operation of small air separation plant, after a certain period of time, oil-water separators at all levels of air compressor, oil-water separators of drier and oil-water separators in front of molecular sieve adsorber need to be blown off. The correct blowing-off method is to open the blowing-off valve slowly, and the opening should be small. Because the water is at the bottom and the oil is on the water, the first thing is to press the water out, and the viscosity of the oil is relatively high, which is not easy to be eliminated. At this time, the blow-off valve can be slightly enlarged to blow out the oil, which will close the valve.
When some operators are blowing off, they open the blowing-off valve very large at once, and it will be "finished" in a very short time. In fact, this kind of operation can not blow off the oil and water clean. Because the gas velocity flowing through the valve is too high, instead, the oil and water deposited at the bottom of the separator will be pressed to the vessel wall, most of which will rise along the vessel wall. After the blow-off valve is closed, the oil and water will reaccumulate at the vessel bottom. In this way, the air is wasted, and the oil and water that has not been blown away may be brought to the tower by the air. Therefore, pay attention to mastering the correct blowing method when blowing off.
