Sieve tray column, also known as foam tower, has the advantages of simple structure, low maintenance workload, high purification efficiency, high water consumption and good anticorrosion performance. It is commonly used in the absorption of gas pollutants, and also has good trap effect on particulate pollutants. It is suitable for purifying dust with weak hydrophilicity, such as silica, clay, etc., but it cannot be used for purifying hydraulic dust such as lime, dolomite, clinker, etc., so as not to block the sieve. The flow rate of the dust collector should be controlled within 2 ~ 3m / s. if the wind speed is too high, it is easy to bring water and affect the dust removal efficiency. The dust removal efficiency of the foam precipitator is 90% to 93%. After adding plastic balls or pebbles on the foam board, the purification efficiency can be further improved, but the resistance of the equipment increases.

Users reported that the on-line analyzer of a 30000 grade air separation plant showed that the outlet CO₂of the molecular sieve suddenly increased from the normal value of 0.43×10-6 to 120×10-6, and the temperature difference in the expansion air channel entering the two high-pressure plate fin heat exchangers began to expand. At the same time, the temperature in front of expander also decreased from - 105°C to - 132°C with liquid entrainment.
