There are two types of air separators, vertical and horizontal.
The working principle of vertical air separator is that the mixture gas enters the housing and is cooled by evaporation tube, in which the refrigerant vapor condenses into liquid and remains at the bottom of the housing, while the non-condensable gas is discharged through the air outlet. The high-pressure liquid accumulated at the bottom enters the evaporation tube after being depressurized by the expansion valve, and the steam generated in the evaporation tube returns to the compressor.
The working principle of the horizontal air separator is the same as that of the vertical air separator. After throttling pressure drop, the recovered refrigerant is returned from the lower return pipe to the second interlayer for utilization and the vapor generated after evaporation is returned to the compressor.
